Title:
CHARGER AND CHARGING SYSTEM FOR CAPACITOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005086970
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To charge a single capacitor or two capacitors that use a pulsed power supply as a direct-current power supply to a target voltage, with high precision, and to reduce the size and the price of the relevant charger for this.

Alternating-current power is obtained from a converter CNV through a chopper circuit; a step-up transformer Tf that uses this output as a primary input has a secondary winding and a tertiary winding whose voltage is higher than that of the secondary winding, and obtains a boosted alternating-current output; and a rectifier D1 charges roughly a capacitor C to a voltage slightly lower than the target voltage, with the rectified output from secondary winding output. After the completion of this rough charging, a semiconductor switch SW11 finely charges the capacitor to the target voltage with the rectified output of the tertiary winding by its turn-on operation. A constant alternating-current output is obtained from the converter through an inverter, and the output obtained by rectifying it is boosted through a boosting chopper, to finely charge the capacitor to the target voltage; and two sets of these rough charging circuit and fine charging circuit are provided, and two capacitors are charged separately.
