To provide a chin pad for a protective hat, to be used by being fitted on a protective hat's chin strap in ordinary use, and usable comfortably with properly tightening on such a chin strap.

The chin pad 30 for the protective hat which is fitted onto the chin strap 20 of the protective hat 10, comprises a covering member 31 for wrapping in and covering the chin strap 20, a strip-like chin pad body 33 provided on the surface of the covering member 31, and locking members 36 and 37 provided on both edges of the covering member 31 across the chin pad body 33 and engaging to each other. This chin pad 30 is designed to fit onto the chin strap 20 so that the chin pad body 33 lie on the chin surface side of the chin strap 20 when the covering member 31 is wrapped around the chin strap 20 and the locking members 36 and 37 are engaged to each other.
