To provide a chiral polymeric compound having more excellent chiral identifying ability and higher resistance to decomposition due to addition of a solvent than those of a conventional one; and a chromatography filler for separating optical isomers having higher separative power and more excellent durability than those of a conventional one.
This chiral polymeric compound is represented by structural formula 1: wherein, Ar is an aromatic ring; R1 and R2 are each a hydrogen atom or an organic group; R3 and R4 are each a hydrogen atom or an organic group (the both are not simultaneously a hydrogen atom); n is an integer of 2 or more; -X- is any one of -(CH2)q-, an aromatic group, a vinyl group and a hetero atom or a group containing a hetero atom; and q is an integer of 1 or more, and is characterized in that the absolute value of a molar ellipticity maximum value of a circular dichroism spectrum absorption of the compound is 1,000 degcm2dmol-1 or more as measured using a solution sample of the compound.
