To obtain a cleaning composition which exhibits a high cleaning power against a wide variety of dirt and has a low combustibility by using, as the essential ingredient, a mixture having a specified b.p. and comprising a perfluorobutyl alkyl ether and an isoparaffin having a specified number of carbon atoms.
A mixture having a b.p. of 80-150°C and comprising (A) a perfluorobutyl alkyl ether represented by C4H9OCnH2n+1 (wherein n is 1 or 2) and (B) a 5-10C isoparaffin is used as the essential ingredient. Preferably, ingedient B contains 0.2 vol.% or lower impurities other than isoparaffin and comprises 80-90 mol% 7C isoparaffin, 5-10 mol% 8C isoparaffin and 5-10 mol% 9C isoparaffin. Preferably, the wt. ratio of ingredient A to ingredient B is (90/10)-(20/80). This cleaning composition is suitable for removing dirt comprising a working oil, a liquid crystal material and/or a silicone oil.
