To provide a cleaning member for wiping roller of an intaglio printing machine, which can uniformly scrape an ink adhered to the surface of the wiping roller by making the contact pressure of a scrub brush with the wiping roller uniform, as well as a method for shaping the cleaning member.

This cleaning member operates to clean the surface of the wiping roller by bringing the former into contact with the circumferential surface of the wiping roller soaked in a cleaning liquid, into contact with the wiping roller which transfers the ink adhered to the intaglio plate surface of an intaglio plate cylinder and is driven to rotate inside a cleaning tank. The cleaning member is formed of a plurality of rows of grouped fillings, and the tips of the grouped fillings come into contact with the circumferential surface of the wiping roller. Further, the contact surface shape of the grouped fillings which comes into contact with the circumferential surface of the wiping roller, is characteristic in that the contact surface shape is arched along the outer circumferential surface shape of the wiping roller.
