To provide a cleaning method for favorably solving problems of contamination in a flow passage of an ink and clogging in a droplet discharge head of a droplet discharge device used for manufacturing a color filter.
The cleaning method includes steps of: substituting a cleaning liquid for an ink for a color filter in a flow passage of a droplet discharge device; discharging the substituted cleaning liquid into a dot array on an inspection object; acquiring an electronic image of the dot array formed on the inspection object; image processing the electronic image and acquiring a center position of each dot in terms of an X-coordinate and a Y-coordinate, wherein a direction approximately parallel to the dot array is defined as an X-axis direction and a direction orthogonal to the X-axis direction is defined as a Y-axis direction; determining a first reference line by a least square method based on the X-coordinate and the Y-coordinate of the center of each dot; and acquiring information relating to a displacement quantity of each dot in the Y-axis direction by acquiring a distance between the first reference line and the center of each dot.
