To provide a cloth which can be easily pleated while retaining the pliability of a natural fiber and shows an upgraded durability of the obtained pleats.
This cloth 10 is constituted of a stretched cross-laminated nonwoven fabric 11 obtained by stacking two pieces of stretched unidirectionally arranged nonwoven fabric 11a and 11b obtained by aligning and stretching a filament formed by spinning a fiber from a thermoplastic resin in one direction in such a way that the arrangement directions of the filament cross each other and a surface fabric 13 formed of a natural fiber, bonded to one of the sides of the stretched cross-laminated nonwoven fabric 11 with an adhesive 12. The fabric 11 is processed prior to its bonding with the surface fabric 13 so that the fabric 11 becomes pliable. In addition, the basis weight of the fabric 11 falls within the range of 10 to 60 g/m2.
