PURPOSE: To clean a filter trapping the lint from the hot air discharged from a drying chamber at a proper time without bothering a user.

CONSTITUTION: This clothes drier is provided with a filter cleaner 37 removing the trapped lint from a filter 29 and a driving device 43 driving the filter cleaner 37, and the driving device 43 is operated when the drying operation is completed. The driving device 43 is also operated when it is detected that a large quantity of lint is trapped on the filter 29. A lint reservoir case 49 accumulating the lint is removably provided at the front section of an outer box 1 so that the lint removed from the filter 29 can easily be discarded. The front section exposed on the front face of the outer box 1 of the lint reservoir case 49 is made transparent so that the discarding timing of the accumulated lint can easily be judged.
