To accurately judge the clogging state of a filter and to report it in a clothes dryer for drying clothes by circulating air in a drying chamber through a ventilation path where the evaporator and condenser of a heat pump are disposed by a blowing fan device.
When the fan motor 27 of the blowing fan device is maintained at a fixed rotating speed, driving signals output from a control circuit 53 are compared with initial driving signals (driving signals in the state without clogging) stored beforehand, and when the difference is a fixed value or more, clogging is judged. Thus, including a filter, the evaporator and the condenser present in the ventilation path, lint sticking for reducing a circulating air amount such that a drying performance can not be maintained is detected.
