To provide a coating composition of a polymer that retains one or more active components in the oil-base coating at a low polymer concentration and substantially has resistance to aquatic environment, surfactants and mechanical stress.
The water resistant coating composition comprises (a) effective amounts of one or more active components, (b) one or more permissible additives, (c) an oil phase or one or more arbitrary solvents and (d) one or more polymers having a network structure wherein the polymer is dispersed in an oil phase in an amount from 0.01 to 10 wt.% based on the total weight of the composition. The polymer further includes one or more associative agents and the viscosity of the oil phase of the composition is at least 10 poise under a shear stress up to 1,000 dynes/cm2.
