To provide a coating device capable of stably discharging a coating liquid for a long period of time.
In the coating device 500A applying the coating liquid 501 with a MgO powder dispersed in a solvent by a spray method in a process of forming a crystal MgO layer of PDP, an atomizing and cleaning liquid 502 is fed from a first three-way valve 512B on one end side of a flow route 512 after coating process and the remaining coating liquid 501 together with the atomizing cleaning liquid 502 is recovered from a discharge pipe 523A through a third three-way valve 514B. The atomizing and cleaning liquid 502 is fed in a spray gun 513 by switching a second three-way valve 512C and is discharged. Almost all of the area of the flow passage where the coating liquid 501 passes through can be cleaned, the cleaning performance is improved compared with the constitution of using the same amount of cleaning liquid 502 in the state of liquid, and the coating liquid 501 can be stably discharged without causing sticking or clogging for a long period of time, even when the coating liquid 502 containing a coherent and sticky MgO powder is used.
