To provide a coating device capable of immediately determining whether or not a shift in transfer position for ink is due to a defect in a bearing thereof.
A coating device 1 comprises: a plate cylinder 10 for retaining supplied ink in a cell 11 thereof; an impression cylinder 20 for holding a coating object 2 to be delivered and the plate cylinder 10 and transcribing the ink retained in the cell 11 of the plate cylinder 10 into the coating object 2; a temperature abnormality output part 50 that when determining that temperature of a bearing 33 is abnormal based on the temperature, measured by a temperature measuring part 40, of the bearing 33 bearing a shaft center 14 of the plate cylinder 10, outputs a temperature abnormality signal; a location abnormality output part 70 that when determining that location of ink is abnormal based on location information of the ink measured by a location information measuring part 60, outputs a location abnormality signal; and determination means 80 for determining state of the coating device 1 on the basis of both temperature abnormality signal and location abnormality signal.
