Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil component capable of suppressing impact on a wire as much as possible, even if a high voltage is applied and a large potential difference occurs between specific terminal electrodes, thus generating spark discharge.SOLUTION: Terminal electrodes 6b, 6c and terminal electrodes 7b, 7c adjoining each other and a potential difference occurs therebetween are provided to extend, respectively, from coupling surfaces 4c, 5c of flanges 4, 5 to outer side faces 4b, 5b. The terminal electrodes have overhang portions 16b, 16c and 17b, 17c overhanging in the direction approaching each other, on the outer side faces, and a portion closest each other is formed by them. The places where spark discharge occurs, when a high voltage is applied to a coil component 1, can be concentrated between the overhang portions remote from wires 11-14, and damage due to discharge can be prevented from spreading easily to the wires.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
