Abstract:
To provide a coil component advantageous in size reduction and integration by exposing external electrodes only to a mounting surface and capable of minimizing a distance between components by preventing a short-circuit between adjacent components.SOLUTION: A coil component 1000 includes: a body 100 having a first surface 101 and a second surface 102 opposing each other with exposed lead-out portions of a coil unit, respectively, third and fourth surfaces connected to the first and second surfaces and opposing each other, and fifth and sixth surfaces 105 and 106 connected to the first to fourth surfaces and opposing each other; a first external electrode 400 disposed on the body, connected to the coil unit, and including a first connection portion 410 covering the first surface and a first pad portion 420 covering the sixth surface, the first pad portion having a smaller width than the first connection portion; a second external electrode 500 disposed on the body, connected to the coil unit, and including a second connection portion 510 covering the second surface and a second pad portion 520 covering the sixth surface, the second pad portion having a smaller width than the second connection portion; and an insulating layer 600 covering the first and second connection portions on the first and second surfaces of the body, respectively.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
