Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toughness characteristics guarantee method of a cold forming square steel tube and the cold forming square steel tube whose toughness characteristics are guaranteed capable of fairly evaluating toughness values after bending the steel plate, even if quality of the steel plate fluctuates, based on findings on toughness behaviors of the steel plate (transition behavior of brittleness-ductility) and capable of preventing useless deterioration in a yield.
SOLUTION: In a lower temperature by only a rise in temperature of a transition temperature accompanying bending of the steel plate to form the steel tube than the temperature to guarantee an impact absorber energy of the cold forming square steel tube, the impact absorption energy of the steel plate before bending, is measured, and by comparing the measurement value with the impact absorption energy value prescribed in the guarantee temperature, toughness characteristics of the cold forming square steel tube are guaranteed.
