PURPOSE: To make potential of a photosensitive body under each developed color toner and charged amount of each color toner same and to obtain a good transferring function by providing with an electrifying device before transfer process.
CONSTITUTION: Each color toner image of Y, M, C, and K are formed superpos on the same range on the photosensitive drum by rotating the photosensitive drum 1 rotated four times and repeating each of an electrifying process by an electrifying device 6 before cleaning, an exposure process by a writing optical system 3 and a developing process by each color developing device 4 for each rotation of the photosensitive drum. Only AC voltage is impressed on the electrifying device 6 before cleaning at times other than for the final developed toner image and discharging is carried out by AC corona discharge. When the toner image of the final color is developed, operation by the electrifying device 9 before transferring is started and the potential of the photosensitive body below each color toner layer and the charged amount of each color toner are made same by impressing voltage where DC bias component is superposed on AC voltage. Next, the toner image of four colors is transferred together to a transfer machine 10 by the effect of a transfer charger 5 and fixing is carried out at a fixing device.
