Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce halo when an image having a solid black part occupying a selected region and the color part being in contact with the black part is to be printed to suppress the cost of an apparatus and to increase a printing speed.
SOLUTION: During rightward scanning, a row 50 of cyan prints dots according to a matrix with density of 25% starting on a black region but the printing of an edge is avoided. Dots of a row 48 of magenta are printed on the lower 1/3 area of the black region but the printing of the edge is avoided in the same way as the printing of all of other colors to the black region. Dots of magenta are 25% in density in the same way as the matrix of cyan but draw aside obliquely by one pixel and leftward return scanning draws to the left by one pixel as compared with first return and a row 70 of black prints the lower 2/3 area of a window once in density of 33% and the central 1/3 area thereof becomes density of 33% and the lower 1/3 area thereof becomes density of 67%.
