To provide a color inverted image forming method by which the bleeding of an image is reduced and the lowering of the density of a black part in contact with a white part is reduced and which is excellent in color reproducibility being faithful to an original.
In this color inverted image forming method, a scanning and exposure action is executed by the respective light sources of blue, green and red and black-and- white developing processing, inversion processing and color developing processing are executed thereafter. When wavelength λB giving the max. sensitivity of a blue sensitive unit BU is 430 nm≤λB≤470 nm, wavelength λG giving the max. sensitivity of a green sensitive unit GU is 530 nm≤λG≤560 nm, wavelength λR giving the max. sensitivity of a red sensitive unit RU is 610 nm≤λR≤650 nm, the sensitivity of the unit RU in the case of the wavelength λG is ≤1/50 of that of the unit GU, the sensitivity of the unit GU in the case of the wavelength λB is ≤1/50 of that of the unit BU, the sensitivity of the units BU, GU and RU obtained by executing the exposure action in 100sec are respectively defined as SBL, SGL and SRL and the sensitivity thereof obtained by executing the exposure action in 1/50sec by identical light quantity to the exposure action of 100sec are defined as SBH, SGH and SRH, the respective sensitivities satisfy that at least one of SBL/SBH, SGL/SGH and SRL/SRH is ≤1/2.
