Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight columnar member superior in strength.
SOLUTION: This columnar member has an upper wall part having a belt-like opening part in the longitudinal direction, a bottom wall part opposed in parallel to the upper wall part and a pair of side wall parts arranged at a right angle to the bottom wall part; and has a central member of superposing two C-shaped members 2 and 3 composed of a metallic plate in its longitudinal direction and an enclosing member 4 composed of a metallic plate brought into close contact in the longitudinal direction of the central member and arranged so as to wrap the central member. Ribs 4a, 4b, 4c and 4d are arranged in the longitudinal direction in an area of the enclosing member 4 corresponding to an opening part of the C-shaped members 2 and 3.
