Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical method for manufacturing a pattern-forming material for an artificial marble, which employs a film-pulverizing step and is capable of improving a yield of coloration compared to other cases, and the pattern-forming material for an artificial marble manufactured by the method.
SOLUTION: A pulverized film, obtained by pulverizing a resin film, is stirred and mixed with a colorant and colored. Particle size classification is conducted so that the weight ratio of the pulverized film that falls within a small-particle-size range, i.e. particles smaller than the minimum particle size in a particle size control range including the target particle size, falls within a prescribed range determined by the target particle size. The pigment/resin concentration in the colorant is adjusted so that small-sized pulverized film falling within the small-particle-size range does not form agglomeration when stirred and mixed with the colorant.
