To help eliminate the problem of a multicast packet not being forwarded to a relevant device by a relay.SOLUTION: A communication device comprises: a generation unit that generates a packet where a destination address in a first communication layer is an address of a search target device, a destination address in a second communication layer is an address of the search target device, and a source address in the second communication layer is a multicast address; and a transmission unit that transmits the packet generated by the generation unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
