To provide a method of constructing a communication route and the like where traffics required for constructing the communication route can be made relatively small and where the amount of data concerning the communication routes to be stored at terminals is relatively small.
The communication route constructing method of the present invention comprises: a communication quality notification step of enabling a terminal to transmit an H packet containing communication quality information indicating communication quality in a communication route with a host terminal to a network with a broadcast communication in the network on which power line communication is performed; a communication quality acquisition step of making an H packet receiving terminal acquire the communication quality, in two ways with the H packet sending terminal, and with the present terminal; and a communication route construction step of making the H packet receiving terminal calculate the communication quality with the host terminal based on the two-way communication quality and the communication quality information contained in the received H packet, and constructing the communication route with the host terminal only when the communication quality meets predetermined requirements. In the communication quality acquisition step, the communication qualities are collectively transmitted from respective communication terminals to the present communication terminal with the broadcast communication.
