To make a table of a size which is compatible with the size of normal character part of the same multiple when the size of the table is designated by a multiple designation by a method wherein the sum of the character size and a character spacing is multiplied by the designated multiple, and by the size value which is obtained as the result, lines or rows which are the designation objectives of the table are composed.

A composition processing unit 10 extracts a designated value for the character size from document data 20, and stores it in a character size-character spacing memory unit 12. Then, a size designating unit 16 receives a size designation by a multiple designation for a character row corresponding graph, and feeds the designated value to a size calculation unit 14. Then, the size calculation unit 14 converts the size designation value into an absolute value which is represented by a length a becoming the reference for a composition processing. Then, the converted value of the size designation value which is calculated by the size calculation unit 14 is transmitted to a module which performs a composition for the character row corresponding graph in the composition processing unit 10, and by the module, the character row corresponding graph is composed based on the converted value.
