Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition containing an oxidation-sensitive active substance selected from ascorbic acid and its derivatives exhibiting excellent cosmetic characteristics with regard to both the touch and tolerance, which can be preserved for a time without a particular measure and retains the activities of the active substance for improving the synthesis of a ceramide, the barrier performances of skin, and the differentiation of a keratinocyte.
SOLUTION: This composition for improving the synthesis of the ceramide in epidermis and/or for improving the barrier performances of skin comprises a physiologically allowable medium having an aqueous phase containing the following ingredients: at least one oxidation-sensitive hydrophilic active substance selected from ascorbic acid and its derivatives and at least one maleic anhydride copolymer comprising at least one maleic anhydride-based comonomer and at least one comonomer selected from among vinyl acetate, vinyl alcohol, vinylpyrrolidone, a 2-20C olefin and styrene. The composition is applied for cosmetics and/or dermatology.
