Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition having high Abbe number and high refractive index and useful for optical lens such as plastic lens for eyeglass by including an inorganic compound having a specific atom and a compound reactive with the inorganic compound.
SOLUTION: This composition contains (A) an inorganic compound containing sulfur and/or selenium atoms in an amount of preferably ≥30 wt.% (e.g. sulfur) and (B) a compound reactive with the component A and preferably containing a structure of the formula (R1 is a 1-10C hydrocarbon group; R2 to R4 are each H or a 1-10C hydrocarbon group; Y is O, S, Se or Te; (m) is 1-5; (n) is 0-5; (p) is 0 or 1) in the molecule [e.g. bis(β-epithiopropyl)sulfide]. Preferably, the contents of the component A and the component B are ≥1 wt.% and ≥10 wt.%, respectively, the sum of the components A and B is ≥30 wt.% and the amount of the component A is 1-50 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the component B.
