PURPOSE: To reduce rate of change of resistance by constituting a multicomponent oxide consisting of at least one kind of Co3O4 and NiO, MnO4 and Al2O3 at a specific composition ratio.
CONSTITUTION: Mn3O4 powder is blended with Co3O4 powder, NiO powder and Al2O powder at prescribed amount ratio in humid state and the blend is dehydrated and then subjected to heat drying. The dried blend is then calcined and subjected to wet powdering, dehydration and drying to prepare composition powder. The composition powder is kneaded with a binder such as methyl cellulose and formed to give a green sheet, which is then cut into a prescribed size and burned to provide the multicomponent oxide composition for thermister consisting of 20-80mol% Mn3O4, 0-65mol% Co3O4, 0-60mol% NiO and 6-25mol% Al2O3.
