To obtain a composition affording excellent pimple therapeutic/ preventive effect without irritation to the skin and such side effects as to be involved in steroid drugs by including an oil-soluble extract derived from licorice, a corneous exfoliative agent and/or anti-inflammatory agent.
This composition for treating pimple contains (A) 0.005-10 (pref. 0.05-1) wt.% of an oil soluble extract derived from licorice (afforded by subjecting the dried or directly ground roots of licorice to solvent extraction; wherein the licorice includes Glycyrrhiza glandulifera Waldstein et Kitaibel, Glycyyrhiza uralensis Fisch et DC., Glycyrrhiza echinata L., Glycyrrhiza pallidiflora Maxim and congeneric plants), (B) 0.01-5 (pref. 0.1-2) wt.% of a corneal exfoliative agent (e.g. glycolic acid, salicylic acid, resorcinol) and/or (C) 0.O1-5 (pref. 0.1-1) wt.% of at least one kind of anti-inflammatory agent (e.g. glycyrrhizic acid, glycyrrhetic acid, methyl salicylate).
