Abstract:
To reduce a dead volume produced at the opening end of a bypass passage without increasing cost for manufacturing a valve element.
In this two-stage compressor 20, the bypass passage 66 for discharging a part of a refrigerant in a low stage side cylinder chamber 42a and returning it to the suction side of a low stage side compression mechanism 40a is formed in a rear head 45. The two-stage compressor 20 comprises an opening/closing mechanism having a valve element 46 for opening and closing the upstream end of the bypass passage 66 opening to the low stage side cylinder chamber 42a. The valve element 46 is so formed that its end surface opposed to the low stage side cylinder chamber 42a is flat.
