To provide a computer virus detection apparatus preventing a normal file from being erroneously determined as a virus as much as possible.
The computer virus detection apparatus uses a signature table wherein each of feature points extracted from a plurality of normal files and a plurality of virus files is associated with virus probability obtained by numerically calculating probability that the feature point is included in a virus file according to predetermined algorithm. The computer virus detection apparatus includes a control means which, when a virus determination means having received a normal file for inspection erroneously determines it as a virus file, prevents the virus probability corresponding to the feature point used for determination of the normal file by the virus determination means in the signature table from being used for the virus determination means.
