PURPOSE: To obtain the subject fiber capable of carrying out stable spinning for a long period with the minimum number of yarn breakage in spinning, by carrying out conjugate spinning of a polyethylene containing a specified amount of a metallic salt of an aliphatic carboxylic acid and polymer with a higher melting point than that of the polyethylene.
CONSTITUTION: An aimed fiber consisting of (A) a polyethylene containing 200W800ppm metallic salt of 12W22C aliphatic carboxylic acid and (B) a fiber- forming polymer (e.g., polyethylene terephthalate) with a higher melting point than that of the polyethylene. Further, calcium stearate, etc., is preferably used as the metallic salt of the aliphatic carboxylic acid. Furthermore, polyethylene with 0.95W0.96g/cm3 density and 5W40g/10min melt index obtained by JIS 6760 method is preferably used.
