To propose a connecting fitting which is low in cost and for use in axially connecting deformed bars each having screw-like protrusions formed on an outer peripheral surface thereof.
According to the structure of the connection fitting 1, female screw slits 4, 5 to be screwed onto screw-like protrusions 11 of the deformed bar, are formed in arched portions 2a, 3a on left and right side plate portions 2, 3 of the connecting fitting, respectively, and connecting end plate portions 6, 7 connecting between upper and lower edges of the side plate portions 2, 3 are formed at locations that recede outward from the arched portions. When the deformed bars 10 (1), 10 (2) as connecting objects are screwed into the connection fitting 1 from both sides thereof through a predetermined distance, connection of the deformed bars by the connection fitting 1 is achieved. The connection fitting 1 is produced by press-working a metal plate, forming the female screw slits 4, 5 therein, for being screwed onto the thread-like protrusions 11 on the deformed bar, and press-molding the metal plate. Compared with a conventional connection nut which is produced according to a method that threads female screws in an inner peripheral surface of a slender cylindrical cast item by machining, the present connection fitting can be produced at a drastically low cost.
