Abstract:

To obtain the subject contact lens comprising a hydrophilic polymer material, having excellent water content and structural uniformity and comfortable fitting feeling and capable of diffusing water and oxygen into cornea.

(A) At least one kind of hydrophilic monomer (e.g. ethylenic unsaturated group-containing carboxylic acid ester) is copolymerized with (B) at least one kind of cross-linking agent of the formula A-X-(O-(C(O))i-R-(C(O)i-O- X)n-A [(n) is 1-6; (i) is independently 0 or 1; R is a divalent bridge containing at least one saturated or unsaturated ring or bicyclic part; X is a straight-chain divalent alkyl bridge; A is (meth)acrylate or vinylbenzoyloxy, etc.]. Furthermore, in the component B, a group of R or X is substituted with at least one COOH.
