Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a lens having excellent oxygen permeability and mechanical strength as well as transparency by forming the lens from a polymerized material of aromatic dicarboxylic acid and specified silicon-contg. diamine. CONSTITUTION:The lens consists of a polymerized material of aromatic dicarboxylic acid and silicon-contg. diamine expressed by formula I. In formula I, R<1> and R<2> are independently methyl groups or groups expressed by formula II and X is an integer 0-10. In formula II, R<3>-R<5> are independently methyl groups or trimethylsiloxy groups and y is an integer 1-10. In this case as an example of aromatic dicarboxylic acid, isophthalic acid, terephthalic acid, 2- chloroterephthalic acid, 2,4'-biphenyl dicarboxylic acid, etc., are used in a single form or a mixed form. The silicon-contg. diamine is, for example, 1,3-bis(P- aminophenyl)hexamethyl trisiloxane, etc.
