Abstract:
To provide a container retreat control method of an extrusion press apparatus which calculates a discard thickness remaining in a container and exposes a discard remaining in the container from the container based on the discard thickness.SOLUTION: A container retreat control method of an extrusion press apparatus includes a position measuring process of measuring a main crosshead position RL1 when a pressure in a main cylinder falls up to a position measuring pressure P1 in a main cylinder pressure release process after extrusion process completion, a discard thickness calculation process of calculating a discard thickness D1' in a container 18 from a main cross head position RL1 and a container retreat distance setting process of setting the discard thickness D1' as a container retreat distance CB1, and is characterized in that the container 18 is retreated from a container standard position CT1 by the container retreat distance CB1 in such a state as to close an on-off valve 12C arranged on a main cylinder 12A after completion of the main cylinder pressure release process.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
