Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous caster for billet, with which even in the case of being two or more kinds in the sizes of the cast billets, the shearing droop is made to the min.
SOLUTION: This continuous caster for billet arranges a billet shearing machine A at the outlet side in a guide roll segment zone in each strand. The billet shearing machine A is composed of an L-shape fixed edge 1 having the edge attached to the bottom side and the one laterial side of the billet and a reverse L-shape shifting edge 2 having the edge attached to the upper side and the other lateral side and the shifting edge 2 is a diagonal shearing system for shifting toward the fixed edge 1 from the diagonal direction of about 60° to the horizontal line. In such a case, at the inlet side portion of the billet cutting-off machine A in the guide roll segment zone, fix guides 4 disposed on the same reference line as the fixed edge 1 and shifting guides 5 guidable to the large sized cast billet and pushing the small sized cast billet against the fixed edge 1 side are provided.
