PURPOSE: To obtain a clad steel blank material of good adhesive strength of a coating layer simply and easily by electromagnetically stirring molten steel in a method of coating a core material by passing the same continuously in the molten steel.
CONSTITUTION: A core material 7 is preheated with a device 13 and is conducted into a vessel 1 through the lead-in port 8 of a sealing member 9. On the other hand, molten steel 5 which is retained of heat and is pressurized under constant pressure in a holding furnace 11 is supplied into the vessel 1. In the vessel 1, the molten steel 5 maintains a constant amt. and flows out at a constant speed together with the material 7 from a nozzle 10. At this time, the molten steel 5 in the vessel 1 is electromagnetically stirred by the low frequency coil 2 buried in the wall surface of the vessel 1, and the surface of the material 7 is cleaned by the stirring flow of the molten steel 5. The molten steel 5 flowed out together with the material 7 from the nozzle 10 is solidified by cooing rolls 14, 14' and is continuously made into a clad steel blank material 3 coated with a coating layer 4.
