Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine for continuously peeling the skin of burdock root and enabling easy exchange of brushes and sure peeling operation.
SOLUTION: A burdock root is passed between upper and lower rotating brush roll groups 7, 8 while controlling the passing speed with upper and lower control brushes 17, 18. The machine is improved by attaching each brush 9 in protruded state to an end of a rotary shaft in cantilever style. The driving shaft of the upper control brush 17 is attached to a rigid frame 22 which is vertically tiltable around a horizontal shaft 23 and the pressing force of the brush is made to be adjustable with springs.
