To provide a control device of a continuously variable transmission and a control method of the continuously variable transmission wherein, in the case of slipping, shock on recovering grip after slipping is reduced.
The control device of a continuously variable transmission is provided with a slip detection part for detecting slip of driving wheels (a vehicle wheel speed sensor 440, a G sensor 442) and a control part 1000 for, when slip of the driving wheels is detected by the detection part, changing a speed ratio to an acceleration side compared to a case in which slip is not detected. Preferably, the control device is provided with a vehicle body speed detection part (a vehicle wheel speed sensor 441) for detecting a vehicle body speed. When slip of the driving wheels is detected, the control part 1000 changes the speed change ratio so that the speed change ratio becomes closer to a target speed change ratio corresponding to the vehicle body speed detected by the vehicle body speed detection part.
