To provide a control device for an electromagnetic actuator, having improved responsiveness to the initial rise of a current.
The control device for the electromagnetic actuator comprises a detector for detecting a gap between a core member and an armature member, a current detector for detecting an actual current flowing in a solenoid, and a feedback controller for feedback control of the actual current to correspond to a target current. The control device has also a feedforward controller for feedforward control of the target current and a PWH duty signal generator for generating a PWH duty signal in accordance with the outputs of the feedback controller and the feedforward controller. Depending on the gap detected by the gap detector, the feedback controller changes an integral term constant and the feedforward controller changes a transmission function and/or a gain.
