To provide a control device for a hybrid vehicle, which, when torsional vibrations are generated during traveling, can rapidly damp the torsional vibrations in the hybrid vehicle including a damper interposed between an engine and an electric motor.
When detecting torsional vibrations in a state where a damper 38 is twisted in a positive direction, a control device for a hybrid vehicle performs a fuel cut of an engine 24 and performs control such that driving force is transmitted from a first electric motor MG1 to the engine 24. Thereby, the damper 38 is brought into a state of being twisted in a negative direction, and the range thereof can be switched to a range where large hysteresis torque is generated. As a result, as a measure against the torsional vibrations, the large hysteresis torque can be utilized, and thus the torsional vibrations can be effectively reduced.
