Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform measurement continuously by illuminating transparent windows in two channels, picking up the image of the windows at a regular interval by means of two cameras, digitizing the image in order to determine the size and the quantity of particles and then outputting the data thus determined.
SOLUTION: Liqueur and fibers are distributed continuously through channels 10, 11 each provided with a transparent window. CCD type cameras 12, 13 are set above respective transparent windows perpendicularly thereto. Each window is illuminated by a pulse light source 20, e.g. a stroboscope. Two cameras 12, 13 are connected with a processing unit 23 where digitized images are processed in order to determine presence of a desired particle and to measure the size thereof. The processing unit 23 determines the number of particles per unit volume and the surface area of the particle which are displayed on a screen 24 in the form of a histogram, for example.
