Abstract:
To enable a rapid response to the following abnormalities in activated sludge.SOLUTION: A growth environment database 62 regarding the species of organisms in activated sludge and the environmental conditions under which the species are likely to grow is created in advance, the activated sludge in the sewage treatment plant is photographed, dominant species of organisms in the activated sludge or the species with a large increase in the amount of organisms per predetermined time is determined from the photographed images, the current environmental conditions for the dominant species or species with a large increase in the amount of organisms per predetermined time is evaluated using the growth environment database 62, and the environmental conditions suitable for growth of the preferred species are controlled.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
