Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tone wheel being attocbably detachable without disassembling a crankshaft by installing this tone wheel consisting of first and second separatable bowed ring segments including an indicator, in a crankshaft web, and setting up a sensor assembly in close vicinity to this tone wheel.
SOLUTION: A tone wheel 80 consisting of first and second bowed ring segments 82 and 92 including an indicator spreading over the specified angle around a turning shaft is installed in a crankshaft web 72a in a crankshaft 60. This indicator is formed of two peripheral teeth 83 and 93 constituted so as to alter a magnetic field. In order to offer a sensor signal corresponding to a rotational characteristics of the crankshaft 60, a sensor assembly 46 detecting the indicator is installed in close vicinity to this tone wheel 80, and as a function of the sensor signal being outputted from this assembly 46, a control signal is generated out of a controller 40.
