PURPOSE:To continue the automatic control for operation of a water purification plant while keeping the level of a distributing reservoir, by monitoring the error between the estimated demand value and the actual demand value of the water supply amount. CONSTITUTION:A controller 17 for operation of water purification plant supplies the estimation data 10 and obtains the planned intake value 14 via an estimating function 11 for demand of water supply amount, an operation planning function 12 and an intake planning function 13 to deliver the value 14 to an intake amount controller 15. While the controller 15 gives the closed loop control to an intake valve 1 or an intake pump so that the value of an intake flowmeter 2 is equal to the value 14. An operation plan correcting function 16 supplies the estimated value 11a obtained by a demand estimating function 11 for water supply amount, the intake plane value 13a obtained by an intake planning function 13 as well as the measurement signals 7a and 8a of a reservoir level meter 7 and supply flowmeter 8 respectively to obtain the changing timing for intake amount and the change value in addition to the planned intake amount and to deliver them to the function 13 as the correction data 16a of the value 13a.
