This controller for a paper machine is obtained by installing an enlarging display means 60 for enlarging a manipulated variable MV at an operation terminal in the paper width direction and displaying the manipulated variable MV in the controller for the paper machine equipped with a profile data obtaining setter 20 for obtaining a measured value PV measured with a sensor 10 in the paper width direction, the manipulated variable MV at the operation terminal and the distribution of a set value SV of the paper quality as the profile data, a profile data holding device 30 for holding the profile data obtained by the profile data obtaining setter 20, a display device 40 for displaying the measured value PV, manipulated variable MV and set value SV held by the profile data holding device 30 as the distribution in the paper width direction and an inputting device 50 for manually designating the set value SV and the manipulated variable MV for the display device 50.
