To provide a conveyer belt which effectively suppresses variation in resistance due to secular change and environmental change and with which a stable image is obtained, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the same.
The conveyer belt 1 carrying a toner image or recording material on its surface is equipped with a belt base material 2 made of an elastic material, a front surface covering layer 3a formed to cover the front surface of the belt base material 2 and a back surface covering layer 3b formed to cover the back surface of the belt base material 2. The volume resistivity of the back surface covering layer 3b is set to be larger than that of the belt base material 2 and equal to or above that of the front surface covering layer 3a.
