Abstract:
To accurately and efficiently recover excess developer in the cartridge of a developing unit from a recovery nozzle.
In the developing unit 18Y, the recovery nozzle 186 is formed to be linear from a recovery port 186B to the outside of a housing 150 so that its cross-sectional shape may be gradually extended, and the tilt angle α of the recovery nozzle 186 is set larger than an angle of repose being the tilt angle β of the developer. Therefore, the developer with which the recovery port end face 186A of the recovery nozzle 186 is covered is made to flow into the recovery port 186B by gravity without retaining, and the amount of the developer in the cartridge 150 is surely maintained at the prescribed amount.
