To provide a cooling device in which a control component is not broken even if the cooling device cannot cool the control component sufficiently.
A cooling device is configured to cool the control component housed in a control box of an air conditioner including a compressor 22, an outdoor heat exchanger 24, a decompression device 26, an indoor heat exchanger 28, and a pipe which connects them and in which a refrigerant flows, and includes: a cooling unit 44 which is arranged in the control box 42 apart from the control component 40, and cools the air in the control box by exchanging heat with the refrigerant; a fan 54 for stirring the air in the control box; in-control-box temperature detection means 60 of detecting the temperature in the control box; and frequency control means 62 of controlling the driving frequency of the compressor, and the control component can be prevented from being broken in rising in temperature above a predetermined temperature since the frequency control means lowers the driving frequency of the compressor once the in-control-box temperature detection means detects a temperature above the predetermined temperature.
