Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a copolymer latex composition excellent in chemical and mechanical stabilities and preservation stability against microorganisms.
CONSTITUTION: The subject copolymer composition comprises 100 pts.wt. (solid base) copolymer latex obtained by emulsion polymerizing 100 pts.wt. monomers consisting of (a) 10-65wt.% conjugated diene compound, (b),W-70wt.% aromatic vinyl compound, (c) 0-10wt.% ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, (d) 0-40wt.% other copolymerizable monomer in the presence of 0.01-200 pts.wt. starch and of 0.001-20 pts.wt. antiseptics consisting of a compound containing nitrogen and sulfur atoms.
