Abstract:
To suppress gas leakage in a copper smelting converter.SOLUTION: A copper smelting converter comprises: a castable refractory layer installed on the inner peripheral wall surface of a furnace steel shell; a tuyere pipe attached to the furnace steel shell in a state of penetrating through the furnace steel shell and the castable refractory layer; a metallic ring member installed around the tuyere pipe; and tuyere bricks arranged around the tuyere pipe. The metallic ring member is embedded in the castable refractory layer. The tuyere pipe has an outer diameter having a space between an opening of the metallic ring member and itself at a room temperature, and has a thermal expansion coefficient causing close contact of the pipe with the opening of the metallic ring member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
